The day began in darkness
Obscured by clouds of smoke
The town to sleep was harnessed
But soon from sleep awoke
The morning was so silent
Stillness like a blanket lay
But the hush over the islands
Would very soon give way
See a droplet of light very faint in the distance
Hear the people parttake in the game of existence
And while you are still standing
On the threshold of a dream
The light is then expanding
Into a bright and fiery beam
The day began so slowly
With a wish for better days
But the ground beneath was calling
For you to be on your way
With fervent aspirations
The day began with dance and song
We emerge with great elation
With no fear of going wrong
See the beacon up there in the sky shining brightly
Hear the soul of the dreaming the voice of the many
And every day’s redeeming
The dark that kept us at bay
And while our souls are dreaming
We walk on into the day

Lend me a hand

With a blistering pace:
TIme and space?
But the breath of the ocean
Puts an end to those notions
There is a dark blue magic here
And incantations whispered in our ears
The ebb and flow within my mind
I really want to know what lies behind.
In sleep the mind speaks as we float downstream
Faint figures of the past appear in dreams
Our senses dimmed as the subconscious screams
Silence, and it flows like a lullaby
Somehow in life’s noise I find peace of mind
Lamplight o’er the fountain of indigo
I will find a place, find a place to go

In such a tranquil space full of light

How slowly the sunlight dies
A hush at the brink of night
Red is the evening sky
Worn sun in a slow descent
Moving towards the end
Red are my weary eyes
The storm of soil and space
Is drawing to a close on the battlefield
I'm trying hard to chase
the fire in the sky above me - as it burns and bleeds
in my eyes
But my canvas is empty still
And there past the windowsill
is one red world toiling in the night
My window's closing fast

This is perplexing me to ... peace*. What? An 18piece ensemble - using e.g. sitar, dulcitone, bassoon, kendang, erhu besides "normal" winds, strings, keys & percs - plays something between ±modern but un-bulky melodic chamber and multi-ethno-/world-music. First, compositions seem very easy to "digest". Then, I (you?) get perplexed by their shrewdly balanced complexities, bringing me (you?) balmy & *peaceful exitement; reliably every time I (you?) listen. Thank you, Charlie Cawood!
